BigBoy

BigBoy has been part of Elite longer than any other school horse. His story with Brittney began when an acquaintance mentioned that, along with the horse they were purchasing, there was another gelding on the property in need of a new home. When Brittney went to meet him, BigBoy hadn’t been ridden in quite some time and was standing there in a small kids’ western saddle. She swung a leg over and took him for a ride down the road—and that was all it took. Brittney knew instantly he was a special boy.

In the beginning, BigBoy was a little opinionated and wasn’t too fond of the arena, but that didn’t last long. Once he settled in, he blossomed into one of the best lesson horses Elite has ever had. Over the years, he has introduced more than 200 riders to the sport, carrying each of them with patience, confidence, and a gentle heart.

BigBoy is a 15.2-hand, draft cross gelding born in 2003 who continues to be a beloved and invaluable member of the Elite Equestrian family.

Anyone that knows BigBoy knows that he’s the slowest and safest horse around, so much so that he often takes 3 year old’s for rides. Well, a few years back when the farm was focused more on competitive riders only they thought about selling BigBoy to a more recreational program so he could be utilized to his full potential… not 1 but 2 trial homes sent him back for being too FAST!  I guess he’s picked his home and he’s not leaving!
